John West Deli Tuna Pasta Bake

serves 4


  • 350g spiral pasta (any choice of pasta)

  • 3 x 90g tins John West Deli Tuna extra virgin olive oil blend & pink salt

  • 700g Italian tomato passata (1 bottle)

  • 1 tbsp tomato paste

  • 1 small onion, finely diced

  • 2 garlic cloves, minced

  • 2 tbsp olive oil

  • 2 cups shredded mozzarella

  • ¼ cup parmesan cheese

  • Salt & pepper to season

  • Handful fresh parsley, finely chopped


  1. Preheat oven to 180c. Cook pasta 2 minutes less according to packet instructions. Reserve 1 cup of pasta water, drain & set aside.

  2. To make the sauce, heat a medium saucepan over medium heat. Add olive oil, garlic & onion & cook for 2-3 minutes or until soft.

  3. Add tomato paste, tomato passata & stir to combine. Season with salt, pepper & reduce to a low heat. Simmer for 10 minutes until sauce thickens.

  4. Turn off the heat, add the pasta, pasta water, tuna & half of the mozzarella. Gently stir to combine all the in. Transfer pasta into a baking dish & add the remaining mozzarella & parmesan cheese over the top. Bake for 15-20 minutes or until golden & crunchy.

  5. Serve with extra parmesan cheese & freshly chopped parsley.
